From the creator of "Repetition 64", which was originally written exclusively for the Retro Programmers Inside and Phaze101 "Simon Basic" game jam. A new addictive sequel has been developed. "Rotor Repeat" . This is a game which was stuck in my mind for a while and sadly did not see the light as its prequel until now.

"Rotor Repeat" is a fun space themed memory game which involves blasting aliens. So yeah, TND has blended two game modes into one. This game may be simple, but it can be quite addictive. Also it will test your patience.  "Rotor Repeat" contains the following features:

  • Presentable loading artwork (Disk and tape)
  • Front end presentation with hi score table
  • In game options including difficulty and sound setup
  • Good quality music and in game sound effects
  • Good quality character based game graphics
  • Two different game modes (standard and dark mode)
  • Mystery bonus aliens - shoot them to see how many points you will score
  • Highly addictive hi score attack challenge
  • An original take on Simon Says. You will like it.
  • Programmed and developed fully by human. No AI bot or anything like that!
  • PAL + NTSC compatible on real hardware, also compatible with theC64, Ultimate 64 and the C64 Ultimate.

INSTRUCTIONS

Rotor Repeat is a challenging shoot 'em up brain game, inspired by Repetition 64 which was originally written for the Simon Says BASIC game Jam by RPI and Phaze 101. Rotor Repeat requires a joystick plugged into port 2.

The controls are as follows:

CONTROL – Pause game (Fire / Spacebar resume play)

BACK ARROW – Abort game (when game is paused)

JOYSTICK LEFT – Rotate Ship anticlockwise

JOYSTICK RIGHT – Rotate Ship clockwise

FIRE BUTTON – Fire lasers

You can only shoot one laser beam at a time.

SCENARIO

The core unit inside your intergalactic plant based space station has gone into red alert due to a malfunction that has been caused by alien interference.

Your mission is to fix the space station by shooting at the moving drones. Before you can shoot at the drones, you must watch them flash and/or listen to their notes. The drones will then move around. You must then shoot the drones in the correct sequence.

If you hit the correct drones in the correct order, you will complete each level. However, if you hit an incorrect drone, a miss will occur. After three misses take place, you will automatically lose a life.

You will have a race against time to complete each round as the timer will award you bonus points on successfully completing a level. Do not worry as you will not lose any lives on running out of time.

Watch out for the fast alien spinners that approach the game world. If you shoot those you will gain a mystery bonus added to your score. The bonus points vary from nothing, 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000 to 2000 points.

If you let those spinners pass you  will miss out on those bonuses. The  spinners will not kill you if they approach your space ship.

Extra lives are awarded on completing every fourth level.

There are 100 levels in total, but it is highly unlikely that you will get that far.

Keep on playing until you have run out of lives.

Good luck!
